Does my tenancy change?
No, most existing tenancies will remain the same until the Welsh Government Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 comes into being, when most tenancies will change, but you will still have the same level of protection.
Will our rent increase?
No more than it would have done if you stayed with your original landlord.
This will be subject to the Welsh Government Ministers guidance on rent levels, which can change.
Will our service charges increase?
Service charges will not increase any more than if you stayed with your
Service charges can rise, or reduce, on an annual basis due to changes in service delivery costs, contract prices obtained, and/or changes
in the specification of what services are to be provided or the quality of the service, following consultation with affected tenants and leaseholders.
Will I ring the same number for repairs?
Generally yes, all numbers will continue to be used but we will eventually move to just using 0300 111 3030.
Will I be dealing with the same staff?
Most tenants will but there may be some changes to patch sizes, which may mean some tenants have different staff contacts.
How will adaptations for disabled people be dealt with in the future?
Minor adaptations will continue to be delivered “in house” and Barcud will work with the relevant local authorities to obtain adaptation grants for major works.
Will you continue to build fully wheelchair accessible properties?
Yes, where there is an identified need and to meet future need.
How will tenants be kept involved?
All existing tenant involvement will continue but will be discussed with tenant representatives and groups as part of a wider tenant participation review.
